Whitehall Spirit® Tango 17 Double Slide Seat Rowing Skiff

The double position thermoformed Whitehall Spirit® Tango 17™ is a double position "Mountain Bike of The Sea".  We have rowed the boat extensively including open water racing. In the Whitehall Spirit® Rowing Club  members row the Tango 17™ daily. Club instructors find it's an excellent trainer enabling new rowers to learn the proper stroke very quickly. It’s fantastic for instructing anyone who is new to rowing. They quickly learn the finer points about slide seat rowing with carbon fiber sculling oars while sitting in the same boat as their instructor.

The highly successful Whitehall Spirit® Classic 17 was used as the base model for this new design. The construction of the Tango 17™  featurs thermo-vacuum formed co-polymer plastic for the hull and deck. A complex thermoformed inter-deck grid under the cockpit welds the hull and deck together and stiffens the boat substantially while also absorbing the rowing stresses on the sliding track and footstop supports. This boat is built to last! Owners who have these boats in tropical areas are impressed at how impervious they are to tropical sunlight.

At less than half the price of one of the handcrafted fiberglass and teak Classic Whitehall Spirit®  17 double slide models this boat is much more affordable.
