Construction Materials

The Tango 17™ hull and deck are constructed from ultra strong co-polymer plastic using a heat/vacuum forming process called thermoforming. Co-polymer is rigid and stiff and will not change shape like rotocast polyethylene does, when exposed to direct sunlight. Co-polymer is also much more impact resistant than fiberglass hull construction.

The Tango 17™ exterior and interior have a UV proof acrylic coating called Solarkote® bonded to the surface. That means the boat retains a glossy yacht-like finish, does not chalk, and stays shiny and looking good for years. It is maintenance free requiring only wiping down when necessary. Our commitment to highest quality construction and superior design has produced the "Best" boat of its type in the marketplace.

A thermoformed interdeck located between the hull and deck bonds them together and further stiffens the boat. The interdeck also reinforces the cockpit deck, track tower bases and the footstop mounts which are subject to the major forces of the rowing process. The double hull construction makes the Tango 17™ virtually unsinkable just like the Solo 14™ model.

The Tango 17™ is built with 100% Recyclable materials.

Maintenance

 The Tango 17™ has a glossy yacht-like finish that does not chalk, and stays shiny and looking good for years.To keep the Tango 17™ looking new all that’s required is a few minutes spent wiping it down with a damp cloth when needed. This means there is much more time to spend having fun out on the water.
